![]() You cannot see the full content of the notification, only partial. Overall, I can probably unlock 3 times with a pin or password in the time it takes to do one FP scan via Samsung Flow integration. If the screen on the device is off, first it is the device unlocks, then Samsung Flow has to re-connect on the phone, and then finally it scans your fingerprint to unlock the PC. It is actually slower than typing in a PIN since you have to get to your lock screen on the PC, press spacebar, then scan fingerprint on the device. The unlock process is cool but not practical. SideSync is significantly more powerful than Samsung Flow. I will be honest that the end result is pretty underwhelming. It's just cool for unlocking but overall pretty useless. In all, now that I have gotten it to work I wish I could take back 2.5h of my time. Hotspot integration is both quick and easy. The only thing that seems easy is the hotspot. Only Samsung native apps can reply via the notifications, where as in SideSync you can actually view the full app UI and use any app. ![]() I think it never actually connects the Bluetooth either, at least not from a Samsung Flow perspective.Ĭlick to expand.I will be honest that the end result is pretty underwhelming. When I get to the "Register Device" screen where it is supposed to prompt me for a PIN it instead tries to reconnect the Bluetooth connection between the phone and PC and it is just perpetually stuck there, prompting to confirm connection over and over again. ![]() On the phone I cannot see an "active" connection to the PC (typically active Bluetooth connections are highlighted in teal/blue) but whatever, the software reports that it is paired. I pair my device with my computer via Bluetooth and the device appears in the list of paired devices. Everything is in place now for Samsung Flow to work, however, I still cannot get it to work. I followed the instructions provided here PIN Sign-in disabled when System is joined to Domain to get the PIN going and I successfully set it up. It was just disabled by default since it is a domain account. Therefore, if you have a Samsung device and frequently work on Windows, downloading Samsung Flow is a great way to simplify your day-to-day life.Okay so I found out that I can in fact use a PIN in my company. For example, you can use your smartphone's fingerprint reader to unlock your PC. Finally, Samsung Flow also allows you to use the biometric verification methods on your device to unlock your user account on Windows. You can also turn your device into a Wi-Fi access point for Windows and transfer files between devices to back them up.Īnother interesting feature offered by Samsung Flow is the ability to share your device's screen with the computer in order to see it on a larger screen. For example, Samsung Flow allows you to receive notifications from your device on Windows, as well as to respond directly to messages. Once you've established a connection to the computer, you can enjoy all of the features offered by this app. If you want to do it wirelessly, on the other hand, you'll need to have Bluetooth and Wi-Fi enabled, as well as have the computer connected to the same local network as the Android devices, either by Ethernet cable or by Wi-Fi. To connect via cable, simply connect the smartphone to the PC with the official USB cable supplied by Samsung. After installing it, you can choose whether you want to connect the devices wirelessly or with a cable. In order to pair both devices, it's necessary to have the Samsung Flow app already installed on your device. Samsung Flow is the official Samsung app for connecting your Android devices to Windows.
